Mystics can seem very different from us – in the first place they are so holy that God often manifests in their lives in often quite extra ordinary ways. Secondly, they had lots of time for prayer. They had monasteries, abbeys and hermitages to allow them to shut out the world. Surely their lives were simpler than ours.
This ‘five-session reflective series’ during the year will highlight the very difficult, often lonely and sometimes dangerous circumstances these women and men lived with. They were active in their communities, the Church and even international politics. It doesn’t matter if you can’t attend all sessions as each will be self-contained.
Maybe their lives are not very different from ours. All of the mystics we have chosen to focus on lived lives that had to balance action and contemplation. The other attribute they share with us is a deep desire to come closer to God and to trust totally in the knowledge that God made us, God loves us and God desires to be One with us.
You are invited to walk in the footsteps of the mystics to deepen your relationship with God?
(No Booking required, your attendance would be welcome)
