Prayer Day – Walking with God in Nature – Sherbrooke Forest
‘In every walk in nature one receives far more than he seeks. Take a walk to feed the soul.’ (John Muir)
Sherbrooke Forest on the outskirts of Melbourne is home to the largest Eucalypt trees in Australia, the giant Mountain Ash. It is also one of the few cool temperature rain forests left in Australia.
Start: 9:30am at Grants Picnic Ground, 70 Monbulk Road, Sherbrooke
Finish: 4:00pm at O’donahue Picnic Ground, Sherbrooke Lodge Rod, Sherbrooke
This day of contemplative walking through Sherbrooke Forest will consist of two loops of about 6km, we will walk one in the morning, have lunch at Grants Picnic Ground, and walk the other in the afternoon. There are some flat parts along wide paths, some up and down parts on wide and narrow paths. A reasonable level of fitness is required – Grade 3 (medium).
This is an opportunity for you to spend some reflective time walking in silence within nature, as a small faith community. This is a contemplative walk allowing time to stop and take in the beauty of creation and the experience of listening to God speaking to you through nature.
Maximum of 16 participants.
Cost $40 per person.
