Prayer Day – Walking with God in Nature – Ferny Creek

‘In every walk in nature one receives far more than he seeks. Take a walk to feed the soul.’ (John Muir)

This is an opportunity for you to spend some reflective time walking in silence within nature, as a small faith community. This is a contemplative walk allowing time to stop and take in the beauty of creation and the experience of listening to God speaking to you through nature.

Starting from Ferny Creek Reserve in the Dandenongs, we walk two loops: in the morning via quite country roads to Sassafras, then via Sassafras Creek Trail and Alfred Nicholas Gardens back to Ferny Creek for a picnic lunch; in the afternoon we cross the road for a loop through Sherbrooke Forest. A mix of tall forest, lush tree fern gullies, quiet streets, pine tree avenues and ornamental gardens (rhododendrons and azaleas should be starting to flower).

Total distance approximately 13 kilometres, some 250 metres climbing including some steep sections in Alfred Nicholas Gardens. The walk is a Grade 3 : Medium.

Maximum of 16 participants.

Cost $40 per person.

For registration or further details contact secretary@campion.asn.au or 03 9854 8110.
